Pathogen Reduction
The OZy™ Manure Treatment System reduces manure pathogens. Manure contains pathogenic bacteria. There is a real need to reduce those pathogens for both human health concerns as well as livestock health and well-being.
Somatic cell count (SCC) is an indicator of the quality of milk. The number of somatic cells increases in response to pathogenic bacteria like Staphylococcus Aureus which is a cause of mastitis. By reducing the pathogenic bacteria in the manure that comes in contact with the animals, like a flush barn, you can reduce the cases of disease. Lowering the cases of mastitis and thereby lowering your Somatic Cell Count can lead to lower treatment costs and higher premiums.
